To network or not.........
We learned that this very pregnant girl had 24 hours to get out of the shelter. What would we do? What could we do? No room in boarding for even a "not so" pregnant dog. Would we have to turn our backs on this girl and let her be euthanized at the shelter? We decided we would try and find a foster home for her. Knowing that our fosters are already packed to the gills, it was going to take a miracle of sorts to find a foster home for her. But, we thought we would give it a shot. The toughest decision is whether or not to try and network a dog---knowing that if you do not find a foster home, your options are done. We get attached to the dog through the process of networking and evaluating the shelter dog and know that if no spot is found, we will have to accept the fact that this innocent shelter dog will be euthanized by the shelter.
A picture found....
Then, the inevitable email arrives......................................
"Have you seen this girl?" Knowing that her situation at the shelter would be urgent and her days numbered we called to get some info on her. Turns out she was abandoned by her former owner for being pregnant. Dumped at a county shelter in her most neediest state.
